What do you know about the Univeristy of Missouri at Kansas City?
What is the neighborhood like? Cost of living in the region? Cool Places to hang out? The atmosphere of the school itself?
UMKC is down right next to the Country Club Plaza, which houses many shops, restaurants, etc. It's about 10 minutes south of downtown Kansas City, MO. UMKC has one of the best music conservatories in the region, and is known for it. The theater program is pretty good too, with many students who act with the KC Repertory Theater. I'm pretty sure UMKC is also built new dormitories for students, they have shaved a couple of buildings, and I think the new dorms are scheduled to be opened, or fall 07 or Fall 08.
Kansas City is a fairly reasonable place to live, office wise, but you can find places ultra expensive and very cheap a few blocks of one another. Cool places on the campus would hang the Plaza or Westport.
As regards the atmosphere of the school itself, you would probably need to go just on campus. I have been on campus many times, my daughter was even more - she is a junior high school. It's a pretty campus in a part of the city enough. I know several people who attend there, and like him. Most students live in the metro Kansas City, but not all.
Hope this helps you out.
What kind of things do I need to get into the Univeristy of Missouri-St. Louis?
What kind of grades and extracurricular do I need for this school spefically for this school?
There is a list of their admission requirements on their website: http://www.umsl.edu/admission/freshmen/i ndex.html
According to U.S. News, their acceptance rate is about 60%. Therefore, most likely you will get in. If you do not you can transfer directly after taking a year of courses at another university. Transfer should be relatively easy. I guess you would automatically be accepted with a B average (2.7).
Good luck in college is a great experience!

Researchers map the soybean genome
The researchers, funded by the United States on the Status of Energy, have completely mapped the genome of soybeans, according to a study published in the journal Nature. They have also started to compare the DNA of soybean lines to anchor growth, allowing scientists to select desirable characteristics such as hardiness, digestibility, resistance to disease and reduced weight environment.

Soybean (Glycine max) is one of the largest in world staple crops, and can be transformed into an immense variety of food.In addition to their usefulness as a crop, soybeans and their relatives legumes are nitrogen fixers - natural fertilizer for other crops in the same land. Biodiesel from soybeans has also been marked as a source of cleaner energy.
Henry Nguyen, director of the University of Missouri resident Biotechnology Center soybean, believes the research will help everyone who uses soy and their derivatives.A database of soybean traits and genetic markers will tolerate scientists and producers of "custom-make strains" Soy - for example, using the gene that enables soybeans to impede the devastating disease Asian soybean rust or by increasing resistance to drought. A genetic marker allows the grower to degrade phytate levels, reduction of environmental contaminants in soybean is used as pigs and poultry. Another reduced stachyose, which makes soy easier to assimilate by humans and animals.
