How does one buy a mobile home in Florida with no down payment?
I found the perfect home in central Florida. It is located right next to my best friend. It is one acre of land with an old mobile home single wide on it. This is the only house I can afford, without a cabin absolute no good. I like this because I spend my money investing primarily in property and I could build my dream home later.
The problem is, I have no downpayment. I was told there are programs out there that help. I was approved by my bank for the loan, so I have good credit.However, every government program that I found will not help to buy a mobile home, not ship, no first time buyers, not Fannie Mae, not at home, etc.
Does anyone have any ideas??
Something in exchange, car, boat, motorcycle, anything that does not eat.Have you talked to the bank on presentation to the property as collateral? My family was in this area for 30 years, IM me.
Safety of mobile home in central Florida?
My wife and I live in a house built in California and are considering retiring to a community of prefabricated homes somewhere less expensive. Central Florida sounds good, but my wife is concerned about hurricanes damaging mobile homes. My opinion is that there are thousands of people living in mobile homes, many for decades now, and only a small number are affected. Also, I believe that a new manufactured home is almost as hurricane resistant as house construction site. Can anyone living in a manufactured home from Florida no opinion?
Floridian here. Although I do not live in a prefabricated house, I spent most of my life in Florida. The hurricanes did their worst damage on the coast. There are many, many beautiful adult communities in Central Florida that take less abuse by hurricanes and tornadoes, because when the storm comes inland, they were sharply reduced force. Not to say it can not happen. The last two years have been devastating. But on average, Central Florida has suffered less damage. Look in the area between Alachua (Gainesville) and Orange Counties (Orlando) for some lovely communities.
